Don’t let kintsugi rob you of God’s best
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with seams of gold, so the cracks make it look more beautiful. The underlying philosophy is that people who have been emotionally or mentally hurt can make a feature of their scars. It sounds appealing, and is becoming popular among Christians. Expect God to offend you
Jesus offended almost everyone he met. Teachers, pharisees, religious leaders, disciples, ordinary working Jews ... they all got the same treatment. There’s no accounting for the word accountable
The word 'accountable' is a secular buzzword that has crept into our churches. But the bible only uses it when God's people account to him. Not each other. You only find person-to-person 'accountability' in Daniel 6:2, in the godless Babylonian regime, with its tyrannical hierarchies and systems. The Hebrew word for 'accountable' is 'taam'.
