Sometimes the enemy gets you on the run and you don’t know why. It’s hard to break through and find victory.
This might be because you are fighting him in the wrong place. But Jesus gives you the authority to decide the ‘turf’, not him.
In 1 Kings 20: 23, the king of Aram attacked the Israelites – and lost.
So, his officials advised him: ‘Their gods are gods of the hills. That is why they were too strong for us. But if we fight them on the plains, surely we will be stronger than they.’
The enemy loves to drag us down to his level. He knows he can’t touch us when we’re seated on the high ground – with Christ in heavenly places.
So, he harasses us, lies to us and wears us out through accusation and temptation, so that we leave the place of prayer, praise and faith.
Jesus is urging us to get back to the heavenly places, and stay there.
This is where victories are won.
