Freedom Church’s prayer team swung into action last Saturday when a children’s home was under threat from a mob in South Africa.
We called an urgent prayer meeting within 15 minutes of hearing that the home was in danger.
And God answered our prayers. The home, in Western Cape Province remained safe from intruders that night.
The situation looked bleak during the afternoon as a mob gathered just 1km from the home, which houses 18 children.
Activists blocked the road with taxis just three blocks away. The vehicles had ferried activists from other areas.
The man who runs the home had to rescue his daughters and ‘bundu-bashed’ across fields to get them home safely.
The activists had started fires and vandalised properties near the home. But they left the home untouched.
Later, 17 law enforcement units secured the area after we joined other Christians in prayer.
Last month, God protected the home from a huge storm that hit the area after we prayed. Many other buildings in the area were damaged.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Psalm 34:7.
