Some people wonder why they are prone to enemy attack.
The bible has the answer: ‘Whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake’ (Ecc 10:8).
God loves us so much, he places walls of protection around us.
But some of us push the boundaries and even flirt with practices that the bible describes as ‘detestable’.
It’s easy to compromise when there are so many delectable but deceptive practices on the devil’s menu.
If you break through God’s protective wall, you give the enemy the opportunity to bite you. And he will.
The book of Jude explains how God’s protection works.
Verse 21 sets out our responsibility: ‘Keep yourselves in God’s love.’
Then v24 explains that God’s role is … ‘to keep you from stumbling.’
We have our part to play.
