Jesus knows how to heal us. After all, he created us and knows what’s best.
But sometimes, we want him to heal us on our terms. So, we remain sick.
Jesus healed people in strange ways. He put his fingers in one man’s ears, rubbed mud in another man’s eyes and told a paralysed man to stop sinning.
In the Old Testament, Naaman, chief of the king’s army, had leprosy. Elisha told him to bathe in the River Jordan seven times. But Naaman angrily resisted and set out his own T&Cs.
His pride was initially stronger than his desire to get better.
We’re the same. We want Jesus to heal us ‘respectably’, through prayer. But Jesus never prayed for anyone to get healed.
Or perhaps you don’t want to be healed in public, or don’t like people laying hands on you.
Maybe you’re resistant to some of the Holy Spirit’s manifestations.
These attitudes may be the reason you don’t get better.
Jesus wants to heal you. But on his terms, not yours. It’s your chance to prove that he’s Lord.
