Depressed manGod didn’t create us to grieve, because he didn’t create us to die. We’re not wired to cope.

So, grief can be unbearable.

Meanwhile, well-meaning friends and family urge us to ‘find closure’.

Find closure? What a foolish term. It’s based on worldly wisdom. God doesn’t use it.

Instead, he invites us to join him on a healing journey.

He knows what it’s like, as he grieved the death of his only son. And because he created us, he knows the best way to provide personal help.

He sends his Holy Spirit to comfort us when we cry, scream, and can’t face life or people.

He counts our tears and weeps with us as we recall the things that made the relationship with our loved-one unique.

He brings unlikely people to help us, and shows us who our true friends are.

God blesses those who mourn. He never stops comforting us or drying our eyes.

Our loved-ones’ lives are embroidered on our souls, so we shouldn’t try to ‘find closure.’

But we can find the peace, healing and comfort that God alone provides.
