The enemy has plans for your life, the same as God has.
Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 2:11 to be alert to the devil’s schemes. And ‘schemes’ means: organized evil-doing, a settled plan.
Satan had a plan for Eve and then Adam in the Garden of Eden. And it worked.
He delayed the archangel Gabriel from visiting Daniel.
He nearly destroyed Peter’s ministry before it started. And he repeatedly stopped Paul visiting the church in Thessalonica.
He had at least two plans for Jesus’ life – to tempt him, and then divert him. Satan failed because Jesus was alert.
Yes, Jesus has won the victory. But we must play our parts. ‘Gazing on him’ is not enough
We wear armour and wield the sword of the spirit because we’re in a real war.
That’s why Paul used the word ‘wrestle’ in Ephesians 6 – it means ‘a struggle, fight, conflict, contest.’
Satan plans include accusing you, tempting you, lying to you, diverting you and deceiving you. He comes to kill, steal and destroy.
Be watchful. And then fight him by enforcing Jesus’s victory rather than just believing it.
